Davos 26: Reeves audacity trying to lecture the US on China, whilst handing London to Beijing
Her audacity is off the scale. Trying to lecture the United States of America on how to handle China, whilst Labour continues to lie to the British public and cosy up to them for trade and energy.
In a performance that can only be described as a global stage humiliation, Reeves sat alongside U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and tried to play the role of the seasoned stateswoman, advising the Americans on economic resilience and de-risking. The irony wasn’t just thick, it was suffocating.
While Reeves wagged her finger at Washington, the Labour government back home was busy rolling out the red carpet for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in ways that should terrify every British citizen as we have written about many times before. Hack after hack, threats, lies but still the CCP appears to be Labours best friend.
Reeves’ performance at Davos wasn’t diplomacy, it was a joke. You cannot lecture the world on weaning itself off China while you are simultaneously selling the keys to your capital, risking colleagues in Europe and transferring energy security to Beijing.
The colossal spy hub in the heart of London
Just as Reeves was busy “lecturing” our closest ally, her government gave the final green light to China’s mega-embassy at the old Royal Mint site. This isn’t just a building, it’s a strategic nightmare.
Location: Directly opposite the Tower of London.
Security Risk: It sits atop critical fiberoptic cables that carry the lifeblood of the City of London’s financial data.
The Secret Rooms: Plans reveal over 200 private rooms and hidden basement chambers…that Angela Rayner said was not acceptable, but seems it is now.
The Warning: MI5 and GCHQ have already warned that the risks of this colossal spy hub cannot be eliminated and confirmed multiple hacks by China state on the UK over recent months and years.
For Reeves to talk about economic security whilst thousands of people are loosing their jobs, inflation rising, taxation killing business and individuals, the jobless figures grow by 10k a over month and Labour handing Beijing a high tech listening post in the middle of our capital next to critical communications infrastructure is contempt and betrayal of the highest order.
The Net Zero “Green Grift”
While the US under the current administration is moving to protect its industries, Reeves is doubling down on a Net Zero project that is essentially a massive wealth transfer from British taxpayers to Chinese factories.
Labour’s Warm Homes Plan and their obsession with wind and solar aren’t making us energy independent, they are making us Beijing dependent.
90% of critical minerals for these technologies are refined in China.
Millions in UK subsidies are flowing directly into Chinese solar panels and battery storage.
Energy prices for British people and industry bills remain high, our industrial base is hollowed out, and China laughs all the way to the bank.
The Begging Bowl Strategy
The humiliation doesn’t stop with the lecture. While Reeves pretends to be tough in Davos, Prime Minister Keir Starmer is reportedly preparing a trip to Beijing next week. Seems like the decision of the new spy hub in London was perfectly timed.
After years of calling China a systemic challenge, Labour has reverted to the failed Golden Era policy of chasing trade deals at any cost. They are desperate for growth to cover up their domestic economic failures, and they are willing to ignore human rights abuses and security threats to get a few crumbs from Xi Jinping’s table.
Zero credibility
The Americans aren’t buying it, and neither are the British public. Howard Lutnick’s face said it all: the US is moving toward real decoupling, while the UK is merely re-branding its surrender.
Rachel Reeves can give all the lectures she wants at the cult known as the World Economic Forum, but as long as she is approving spy hubs and funding the CCP’s green monopoly, which is turn seems to approve human rights abuses in China, she has zero credibility on the world stage.
