Shameful Reeves risks our national security by blocking MoD funding due to DEI quotas
On top of £3.5bn cuts, prosecutions and critical letters from military leaders, the Spectator and Daily Express reveal Reeves is questioning funding for MoD because they don't employ enough women.
The safety of the United Kingdom is currently being bartered for a handful of diversity statistics. Recent reports indicate that Rachel Reeves has taken the unprecedented and frankly reckless step of withholding essential funding from the Ministry of Defence. The reason for this is not a lack of fiscal space or a change in the global threat level, but rather a perceived failure by the department to meet gender parity targets. In an era where global tensions are escalating, the government appears more concerned with the headcount of women in offices than the readiness of our soldiers on the front line. This is a clear signal that under the current administration, hyper liberal woke ideology has officially superseded national security.
So let me get this right, Reeves has withheld essential funding from the Ministry of Defence because they havnt’t met dictated ‘gender parity’ targets. I don’t give a shit about gender, it’s competence to do the job.
Gender Parity Over National Protection
According to sources within the Treasury, the Chancellor has questioned why she should provide additional funding to a department that is so far removed from gender parity. This claim, originally brought to light by the Spectator and echoed by the Express, suggests that the Ministry of Defence is being financially throttled because it does not fit the diversity profile desired by the Labour leadership. When pressed on these allegations, Number 10 refused to deny them, hiding behind the usual excuse of not commenting on speculation.
This isn’t just a matter of bureaucratic DEI insanity at the highest level of government. While countries like Russia and China continue to modernise their militaries, our own Chancellor is reportedly using the defence budget as a tool for forced social engineering. For the men and women who serve, the message is clear, their ability to defend the realm is secondary to the Treasury’s obsession with identity politics.
The DEI Virus Infecting Our Armed Forces
This is not an isolated incident of ideology interfering with the military. We have already seen the damage caused by diversity targets within the Royal Air Force.
In 2021, an RAF squadron leader, Andrew Harwin, instructed staff to stop selecting white male pilots for training courses, regardless of their merit.
The former head of the RAF, Sir Mike Wigston, oversaw a period where the force actively discriminated against white men to hit diversity goals.
While these specific scandals led to apologies, the underlying DEI targets remain in place across the civil service and the military.
The British Army has already shrunk by 40 per cent since 2010, leaving us with a mere 70,000 enlisted soldiers. Instead of focusing every penny on recruitment and modernisation, based on merit, this government is obsessed with the Equality Act, which Rupert Lowe has rightly identified as a tool used by minorities to impose their will on the majority. As Lowe has stated, we must prioritise safety over inclusivity and reality over ideology.
Prioritising Everyone Else Over The British Taxpayer
The government’s willingness to compromise the safety of British citizens extends beyond the military. There is a consistent pattern of putting the needs of foreign nationals and illegal migrants above the people who actually pay for the state. This was made starkly clear during the recent Epping Hotel case. In court, the government’s own legal representatives argued that migrant hotels should be considered critical national infrastructure.
By using this specific legal terminology, the government has essentially admitted that the housing of illegal migrants is more important than the planning laws and safety concerns of British residents. The Court of Appeal’s decision to overturn an injunction against the use of the Bell Hotel in Epping shows that the duty to accommodate asylum seekers is being treated as a priority that overrides local democracy. This is taxation without representation in its purest form, where the hard earned money of the British public is funnelled into an invasion that the government refuses to stop, again due to ideology.
The Path To Restoring British Security
The resolution to this crisis lies in a fundamental shift towards putting British interests first. Restore Britain has a clear policy to abolish every trace of DEI across all government departments. We cannot have a military that is more afraid of a diversity audit than an enemy combatant.
Restore Britain would focus recruitment efforts on the native majority, ensuring that those who fight have a deep and historical tie to the land they are defending.
Rupert Lowe has been vocal in demanding that the Treasury publish full statistics on tax contributions by ethnicity and nationality, so the public can see exactly who is paying their way.
The current policy of mass deportations and the removal of all legal obstacles like human rights laws is not extreme, it is a necessary step for national security.
Labour Are Failing To Protect Us
The current government is failing in its primary duty to protect the British people. By allowing Reeves to hold defence funding hostage to gender quotas, the administration has shown that its loyalties lie with a globalist, woke agenda rather than the safety of the realm.
Restore Britain offers the only logical path forward by pledging to scrap diversity roles, rebuild our armed forces based on merit, and ensure that our borders are finally made secure. We must stop pretending that migrant hotels are critical infrastructure and start treating our actual military as the priority it must be.
